We emphasize the importance of Preventive care, such as regular immunizations for children, regular gynecological exams and mammograms for women. Also, routine physical examinations and routine eye examinations are covered with a copay. Please note that preventive care is not covered in Urgent Care Facilities. Please read your plan documents to determine the coverage levels specific to your plan.

Emergency Room Visits

Visits to the emergency room are covered for serious medical conditions, which require immediate medical treatment. If you perceive it is a life-threatening illness, go immediately to the nearest hospital. To make sure your visit to the ER is appropriate, we strongly recommend that you call your family doctor before you go. After hours, and on the weekend, our physicians are contracted to be available 24 hours a day, usually through an answering service (he or she will return your call within an hour). If you are unable to reach your doctor, an on-call nurse is available. You can reach the on-call nurse by calling the number listed on the back of your I.D. card.

Out-of-Area Coverage

If you are traveling outside of the service area and require urgent treatment for an unexpected illness, try to find an area physician or an urgent care facility for treatment, if appropriate. You can also call your family doctor for direction.
