Notification

The Notification process is an important part of Care Management. It is the communication initiated by the provider that specific procedures and/or services are scheduled to occur.

IBA Health Plans depends on you for notification of scheduled and urgent/emergency inpatient hospital admissions and for certain services (see below). Please contact IBA Health Plans within a reasonable time (typically within 48 hours) of these services.

Notification of services are also required to ensure the member's claims are considered for payment. When you do not notify us (admission occurs and member is discharged and/or service has been rendered) payment for the service or admission may be denied. If your notification of an admission or service is late (member has been discharged), a financial penalty may apply to that service or a portion of the admission.

Following are Notification lists that identify services requiring notification. If you have further questions about any of these services, or the notification process in general, contact Medical Services at 1-800-851-0404.
